Dr. Esther Malata is a researcher at the Centre for Innovations in Public Health Emergency Response (CIPHER) and a trained medical doctor. She focuses on clinical epidemiology and contributes to the design and implementation of evidence-based interventions aimed at strengthening Malawi’s health system preparedness and response to infectious disease outbreaks and public health emergencies.

Her work spans operational research, risk communication, and community engagement, with a strong emphasis on translating research findings into actionable solutions that benefit vulnerable populations.
